What is the British Flair Open Air Proms Concert?
The concert is called a proms concert because the audience can promenade during the concert - stroll around, in other words. The most famous concert series of this kind is the BBC Proms, started by Henry Wood in 1895. The organist and composer conducted the concerts every year until his death in 1944.
The Last Night of the Proms in the Albert Hall in London is the final concert in the series. It is a unique event and attracts a large, enthusiastic audience every year that is encouraged to join in and sing.
But why go to London when you can experience more than 100 years of classical tradition under the stars here in Hamburg?
